City Park - Murumbi Peace Memorial Park
[TheChamp-Sharing]Joseph and Sheila Murumbi were Africa’s greatest private art collectors. This couple’s mission was to preserve, promote and protect African Culture in all its forms. They were buried next to each other in Nairobi’s City Park in what is now known as the Murumbi Peace Memorial Park.
Sheila Murumbi’s collection is now what forms part of The Kenya National Archives and The National museums of Kenya. Both signed a joint Deed of Gift on behalf of the Nation of Kenya to maintain, preserve, protect and exhibit to the public the collections left behind by her.
