Nature Walk @ Karura Forest

Karura Forest, which is considered to be an urban forest located near Muthaiga, is the best place to do just that. The highlights of Karura forest include bushes, a waterfall, marshland, Mau Mau caves, an old church and an expansive area of a variety of trees and bamboo forest.
Wildlife in the forest includes; Monkey species, bush baby, bushbuck, bush pig, porcupine, duiker, genet, dik dik, African civet and East African epauletted fruit bat.
Karura Forest went down in history as a highly publicised area of Conservation interest by the late Wangari Maathai whose efforts to conserve Karura Forest from illegal land grabbing during the Moi Regime saw her win a Nobel Peace Price Laureate for her conservation efforts and thereby becoming the first African Woman to win this Award.
