Chyulu Hills National Park
[TheChamp-Sharing]Chyulu Hills National Park is located Northwest of Tsavo West National Park. The nearest town to this park is Tsavo. It was designated a National Park in 1983.
The park is made up of volcanic Cinder cones that formed millions of years ago. Chyulu Hills has spectacular cave systems and sports the world’s longest lava tube, The Leviathan. Due to the porosity of lava rocks, the surrounding areas have abundant fresh water thus providing a perfect sanctuary for the region’s ample wildlife.
The park has a campsite and provides a stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro. The limited facilities and rough terrain here though make it ideal for the rugged traveller, therefore a four wheel drive is a must.
Chyulu Hills National Park is part of the National Parks in Kenya under The Kenya Wildlife Service management.
