Mombasa Old Town

Mombasa Old town is located on the South East of Mombasa Island, covering about 72 hectares of land.  Its inhabitants include a mix of Arabs, Asians, Africans, Portuguese and British settlers.

A walk along the streets of the historic Mombasa Old Town will reveal a heavy influence the Arabs had towards the culture, architecture, language and lifestyle of Mombasa town.  With historic buildings and antique art designs, it is a popular place for Kenyan mementos.
