The Nairobi National Museum

The Nairobi National Museum is located on Museum Hill. It was established in 1929 and officially opened in 22^nd September 1930.  In the recent past (late 2000’s), the Nairobi National Museum has undergone renovations to bring it to par with other World Class museums that has seen it include both dining and shopping experience within its facilities for its visitors.

The new museum features a large collection of preserved bird species, a select collection of animal species, photographs, carved monuments, paintings and a variety of items of Kenyan Cultural and Historical interest.

Getting to the Nairobi National Museum takes less than 10 minutes when getting there by car from the city center.  It is also accessible by foot due to its vicinity to the City Centre.

It is open all year round from 6:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m in the evening.

Of interest and close to the Nairobi National Museum is the Nairobi Snake Park which houses a variety of reptiles and Dr. Louis Leakey Auditorium which hosts a number of prominent events happening in Kenya.
